Welcome back:

Welcome back to the brand new Rum Pages.

Many people wont see all changes that I made, but believe me this site has changed a lot. No more frames within frames, all pages are 1 frame now. Making a proper link to a certain page is much easier now.

Because of the huge amount of changes, the old site is not yet transformed into the new one. To be more precise, only what you see on this page is operational at this moment (and the links that are already placed). The old pages will be included in this new one, but that will take a lot of time. It took me 5 years to build the old one, so don't expect me to change the whole website within a few days.

I hope you all enjoy the new look. Send me an email with your thoughts and ideas. Also keep on sending me that news that you hear, because with a little help you can find everything you need to know on these pages.

I will keep you all informed about my progress.

Cheers, Rene

UK RumFest 2010 noiminees & Update:

Until 2010, there has been no internationally recognised award for the efforts of the many rum brands that have been first fermented, distilled, aged and blended to a level where even the angels themselves declared that their share of sugarcane spirit must be more than they take from a fine Cognac or single malt scotch.

Diageo and Bacardi Rum & tax conflict:

Diageo is attacking rival Bacardi because of Bacardi’s “hidden campaign” for rum supremacy in America that would "kill" off a series of lucrative tax excises that the maker of Captain Morgan rum would receive by shifting production from Puerto Rico to the US Virgin Islands.
